Jurgen Leippert
Jurgen Leippert is a German artist who paints after (the late) Rembrandt; he is in search of the essence of his subject and his compositions, in search of perfect balance. In each painting he is looking for that one single element or brush stroke creating balance, using thick paint with fine details.
When painting plein air, the road towards equilibrium can be rough and wild with many fallacies, sidetracks and delusions, due to the ever changing light the plein air artists need to work with. Clear choices can facilitate this process but Leippert chooses to let himself be played by nature.
He welcomes the torture of a perfectionist in an ever-changing world. Soaking in the process of change and making it thereby work for him, inspiring him, until he has found his equilibrium, to his satisfaction.
